The Firefly was one of a number of models from British boatbuilder Fairey Craft that was
sold in the U.S. by O'Day.  The Firefly was designed by Uffa Fox in 1939 as the "Sea
Swallow" but not produced until 1946 as the Firefly.

Some advertising copy about the Firefly:  "The FIREFLY Rowed by over 100 fleets in
strict one-design class...over 1200 on waters throughout 38 different countries.
Magnificently crafted, the 12-foot laminated, varnished mahogany FIREFLY is lower
priced than any other.  Fully rigged...aluminum mast...  Fleet discounts available
$383.00 Complete.  Kits range from $430.00 - $487.00 -- F.O.B. (duty paid) Boston".
